Megan + Chris’ summer Detroit wedding was so much fun! We had a lot of laughs and a little rain, but definitely a day we won’t soon forget! We met them at the Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center, then off to one of my favorite Catholic churches downtown, SS Peter & Paul Jesuit Church. We finished off the night at 40 degrees north in the Renaissance center where everyone danced the night away! Megan’s favorite memory of the day:
Seeing my soon-to-be husband during our first look and hearing him tell me “you look beautiful” was so perfect. However, my favorite memory has to be when the doors of the church opened and my parents began walking me down the aisle lined with our closest friends and family. Everyone had the biggest smiles and I could feel the love and energy from them all. That didn’t compare to seeing Chris, my best friend, standing at the end of the aisle. Although we had a first look, seeing him as we were walking down the aisle toward him was breathtaking and a moment I’ll never forget. I was (and am) over the moon to have married my best friend and despite the rain, it was the most perfect day so far!
Chris’ favorite memory of the day:
Dancing with my beautiful bride surrounded by all of our friends and family.
Wedding planning advice for newly engaged couples:
Planning a wedding is stressful but don’t let it consume you. Make sure you’re taking time away from your wedding planning to go on dates and focus on each other, not just the wedding. Enjoy the engagement period and make it fun…it goes by too quickly! On the day of, take a deep breathe and enjoy every moment. It will truly be the best day of your life!
