Scarab Club Detroit Wedding

Oh gosh Ceci + Rudy’s Scarab Club Detroit Wedding was exactly what my soul needed. I can honestly say it was one of my favorite weddings of all time. Not only are they an amazing couple that I’m lucky to now call my friends, but I also got to work alongside many of my good friends. This one was definitely one of those weddings I didn’t want to leave after I was done. The jams were spinning courtesy of Wes from The Block Party Detroit, the cocktails were flowing and since almost all guests were vaccinated, we were able to HUG. Their friends were awesome and gave me so many laughs and I got to dance even for just a moment with my favorite flower slingers, Robin + Chelsea from Graham Stanton Co. I definitely cried twice and wish we could do it all over again. Werners, I love you so hard.

Here’s more about this amazing couple and their Scarab Club Detroit Wedding:

Ceci – hospital administrator

Rudy – resident physician

Their wedding in three words: All the love

Ceci’s favorite memory of the day:

So hard to choose one! I’m a little partial to the ceremony. I was a little nervous to walk down the aisle solo, but seeing all of our loved ones and our people standing up front beaming made me so happy. And of course seeing Rudy again, my partner forever, it was all great. Our officiant did SUCH a good job. Rudy and I knew Jared separately in college and to have the friend that introduced us MARRY us, it was so special. The ceremony was such a good representation of our journey together and to have all of our people there was truly heart warming. I’m obviously a sucker for our friends and family. I also loved standing in the doorway to the garden with Rudy and just looking out at all of our people. It meant so much that they travelled from all over and we could see them safely. We underestimated how much we missed everyone and it was so great to feel all the love.

Rudy’s favorite memory of the day:

My clichè answer was from the moment the music started and seeing Ceci walk down the aisle. I became blind to everything else around me other than her. Although I have to say the most memorable moment was frantically dashing off to find Ceci and have her join in on the circle with my dad, sister, and future brother-in-law to belt out “Somebody to Love” by Queen. It was a very rare, blissful moment to shout a song that I love into the night with those people.

Wedding planning advice for newly engaged couples:

3 Key Pearls:

1) Hire people you jive with! Our night was perfect thanks to every single person we hired. It all comes down to the people – if you enjoy being around them, the night will flow so smoothly and you forget that they’re there for a job. But truthfully the best investment you can make is the people.

2) It is SO worth having day-of coordination. I wouldn’t even ponder it, just do it.

3) Don’t sweat the small stuff. In reality, all of it is “small.” What matters is having your person and the people that matter will be there for you.
