Caitlin + Doug’s winter Michigan League wedding was THE way to start the new season! SUCH an amazing day with one of my favorite families :) Caitlin’s sister is Courtney! Her and Jason are as cute as ever (you’ll see them later in the post). Caitlin + Doug’s wedding day was seriously the best. Ok it was freeeeeeeeezing! It was so cold that the news said not to leave bare skin uncovered for more than 2 minutes at a time otherwise risk frostbite! Ya’ll know I love a challenge though. Thank goodness these two trusted me ;) We were quick with it, but the shots speak for themselves (their love just shines through!).
Their ceremony was atSt. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church followed by some laughs with their wedding party and a fab fete’ at the Michigan League. And how perfect is their reception?! Those are the chairs that come with the hall! I couldn’t get over that fact, because they look like they were rented for their dinner! And how great is Doug for trying and glue gunning all of those leaves on their menu ribbon?! Just as I suspected, their dinner was followed by one heck of a dance party. Let me tell you, these families know how to get down. Yup it was a cold day, but these girls left with huge smiles on our faces. Thank you so much you guys for having me and treating us like family. I love you both so much and can’t wait to see what the future holds for you both. xo, e

Describe your wedding in three words
vintage, wintery, warm (despite the 9 degree weather)
Caitlin’s favorite memory of the day:
My favorite memory was during the vows. I did not know how I would react, either being emotional or nervous. Instead, I felt giddy and ecstatic and could not stop smiling standing in front of Doug.
Doug’s favorite memory of the day:
My favorite memory was watching Caitlin walk down the aisle. As soon as the doors opened and she started walking down the aisle, I knew that my life would be changed for the better, forever.
Wedding planning advice for newly engaged couples:
Pick a few items at a time to work on or finalize on the to-do list. We were so excited to start planning and many times Doug and I would try to address every item on our list, which became overwhelming. It was more helpful to spend quality time on one or two decisions we both felt comfortable with and then finalizing it.
