Julie + Steve’s summer Guardian Building wedding was so much fun, as I knew it would be! I’ve known Julie since I was in high school. Everyone who knows her knows, if you’re with Julie, you’re going to have the best time.
During the reception, one of the speeches, someone said, “who in this room has had a better life because of Julie?” I raised my hand. Not only is she a great friend, but I met my Husband because of her. Julie is a big tailgater and my Husband and his friends were parked right next to hers.
This day was perfect. With both of them living out of state, stress was a little high, but they stuck together and really rolled as best as they could with the day (I may have made Julie leave her phone behind for photos and she wasn’t super happy about it LOL). Their ceremony was absolutely perfect. Steve walked/danced down the aisle to Jagged Edge’s “Let’s get married remix” which was so sweet and hilarious. The entire room erupted and some ever got up and danced. They were married by a mutual friend of theirs and his service was absolutely perfect (Zach, I see a side gig in your future). After the ceremony, we were even able to go 500 ft in the air to the roof of The Guardian. It was windy, but soooooo worth it.
The party was well underway as we joined the reception. With entree stations representing Detroit – Mexican Village, Hamtramck, Coneys, and bumpy cake with Faygo rootbeer floats – they had delicious food galore. Everyone ate, drank and danced the night away with one of the best djs – a friend that Julie flew in to light up the dancefloor! JP + Steve, thank you so much for inviting me into your home and your love. Being a part of your day was amazing and I am so honored I was able to be there for you. xo, e
