So, this session was a little different for me, because it was the first time I had photographed a professional photographer and her family (Eeeek!). So, yeah, for the first time in a while I was a little nervous! Once I got there and the session began, it was just so relaxed and organic. I had a great time hanging out with Evan and his family – I got to talk photography with Kerry as Owen proudly showed me his car collection and sweet Evan reminded me of how amazing it is to be in the presence of a newborn. So sweet, so peaceful, so incredible. Here’s a little more about Evan:

How did you decide on your child’s name? We like short and solid names – I either heard “Evan” or randomly thought about it one day a couple of years ago and really started to like it. Ben liked it as well and it ended up sticking. Louis is a family name on my side.

Erin, GIRL… you done it again! I seriously feel like I’m watching a movie when I look at these. You’re by far one of THE BEST family/newborn/children photographers I have ever seen. No blowing smoke either. There is so much LIFE pouring out of these photographs. Movement and laughter… The matte finish that is your signature is also one of my favorite things about your work, brings so much emotion, It makes me want to touch my computer screen because I feel like they are so juicy and velvety (i know weird) LOL. I love how it feels like I’m watching this family from a corner and witnessing their intimate moments together, completely spontaneous and unposed. BRILLIANT post.
Man oh man I can’t get over the gorgeous light and beautiful big windows in their beautiful home!! I love love love that one of baby on mamas knees w her sitting in the window. And I’m obsessed w that owl pillow they have. This is an absolutely gorgeous session! You captured this adorable little family perfectly! Beautiful beautiful job!
