Way back in the fall, when it Michigan’s colors were at their best, I photographed Courtney & Ryan’s engagement session.  We went to Ann Arbor, because that’s where it all started for them!  After hearing their Ann Arbor love story, I just loved them.  We ran around the town they’ll be married in, visiting some of their favorite spots and talking about their love story.  It was such a great day and I can’t wait for their wedding this summer!

How they Met:

We were each other’s first and only date via an online dating site! We met for coffee at Mighty Good for our first date and went on a “second first date” later that evening for drinks downtown Ann Arbor.

Their engagement story:

Ryan had planned to propose outside of Mighty Good where we had our first date, but the Saturday late morning crowd was too big. He managed to convince me to walk in the direction of the Diag instead for an early lunch. He had totally thrown me off with the engagement timeline, so I didn’t think much of his diversion from our Saturday morning plan (who doesnt want to grab a Mighty Good coffee and stop at Afternoon Delight for a muffin??!!!). On our walk through the Diag he slightly veered off the path and brought me to a grassy area under the trees and got down on one knee :) I was totally shocked and surprised (and according to Ryan my face showed it!). We spent the rest of the day going to our favorite Ann Arbor spots to celebrate our engagement and enjoy the moment! We of course got our coffee and muffin finally, too!
