Summer Lovett Hall wedding

I’m deep in the heavy season editing, but I could not wait to share Janel + Michael’s summer Lovett Hall wedding! It was such a perfect and lovely day and I am so happy because that is exactly who these two are. Seriously, two of the kindest and joyful hearts I know and their day was so perfectly them. Plus, big bonus was I got to see Seema + Greg! Also, as is tradition, I cried a few times, but the best was seeing the love Janel’s Grandpa had in his eyes. Oh geez, my heart wants to burst thinking about it. Janel and Mike – thank you so much for having me and being the people you are. I am so lucky to have been able to spend this time with you. xo, e

Janel’s favorite memory of the day:

The entire ceremony! Walking down the isle, I was so overwhelmed with emotion, but once I was standing next to Michael I felt so safe. We let our personalities shine throughout the vow exchange and really throughout the entire ceremony.

Michael’s favorite memory of the day:

The ceremony as well! I was so worried that Janel was going to be stressed if the ceremony didn’t go as planned. I was also really concerned that I was going to mess up during the ceremony so it was a huge relief when Janel did instead. It made me so happy when she walked up to the podium and started laughing. It confirmed even more how strong my love for her is.

Wedding planning advice for newly engaged couples:

Groom’s advice: Know that you won’t be able to speak with everyone, but value the conversations that you are actually able to have and don’t rush them. Also, if you’re getting married in august, don’t wear a tuxedo. Bride’s Advice: Don’t sweat the small stuff!! It does not matter. Focus on what’s important: the love from friends and family; your amazing bridal party; and the lifelong commitment you’re making to the love of your life. The whole wedding experience, from the start of the rehearsal dinner to the last day of the honeymoon, goes way too fast so try your very hardest to enjoy every single minute.

Take some time away from the party and everyone to just be with your bride/groom! We did this during cocktail hour and it was probably our second favorite part of the whole night. We were able to watch our guests from the second floor window enjoy the cocktail hour. It was very humbling and beautiful.
