Andrea + Daniel | 3M Curve Rocky Mountain Wedding

Man, I don’t even know where to start with Andrea + Daniel’s 3M Curve Rocky Mountain wedding! It was just incredible. Originally, they had planned a wedding in Detroit and decided to elope to their favorite place, Estes Park, Colorado. Rocky Mountain National Park is the first trip they took together as a couple and there really are no words to describe how amazing this place is. But we will get to all of that in a minute.

I met them at their stunning chalet, where they were staying with their family. And it was snowing. A lot. Like so much that newspapers for the day weren’t delivered. It was gorgeous and the perfect addition to their wedding day. Their ceremony was at 3M curve, over 14,000 elevation, which was amazing and crazy. It was so cold, so slippery, but also so perfect all at the same time. Their ceremony began with the most important people in their lives with personal readings and hand written vows that brought everyone to tears. After some quick photos, we headed over to The Stanley Hotel for their reception. Some of you may recognize the name, but this hotel is the inspiration for Steven King’s The Shining. He stayed in Room 217 (which we obviously had to shoot in front of) and wrote The Shining. It’s haunted and I can vouch for it (we stayed there and were creeped out! ) There were laughs, drinks and amazing food (and cake!) to be had at their reception and they spent the rest of the night with their family! Andrea’s favorite memory of the day:

My favorite memory of the day was our vows. We both wrote our own vows and they were so personal. I loved that even though we had not said our vows to each other before the wedding we actually both wrote about a lot of the same things. It just further confirmed that we really are perfect for each other.

Daniel’s favorite memory of the day:

My favorite memory of the day was during the vows you could hear wolves howling in the woods.

Wedding planning advice for newly engaged couples:

Just do whatever you as a couple want. Don’t plan your day for anyone else, stay true to what you want as a couple.
