Wedding planning can be sooooo overwhelming. There are just so many choice and options and looks – it can be extremely difficult to hone in on what you’re looking for.

I’ve been shooting weddings for 12 years, primarily in the city, and wanted to share my favorite Downtown Detroit wedding venues to help ease your planning woes. Bonus notes: book your venue and date first and if this kind of stuff isn’t for you, do yourself a huge favor and hire a wedding coordinator – I’d be happy to share some favorites.

  1. Detroit Athletic Club

Whiskey Factory Detroit is such a unique spot. I’ve shot there dozens of times and each time it’s a little different. A very cool spot to make your own. Plus their caterer, 2 Unique is one of the best in the city.

3. Colony Club

A photo of a crowded dance floor inside Detroit's Colony Club. The focus is on a bride and groom in full embrace.

Right in the heart of the city, this nearly hundred year old stunner is the perfect backdrop for your day. The ballroom is so gorgeous in and of itself – your guests will absolutely love it.

7. Chroma Detroit
