When Alex asked me if I would be willing to drive up to her parent’s cottage for her cozy, winter maternity shoot I was so excited! I loved her ideas and vision, but once I got there, I loved it more. Not only was this a stunning, cozy cottage, but also the house Alex was brought home to. This was her childhood home. I loved the idea of photographing her as she’s about to become a Mom in the exact place she learned what a Mom was. As is tradition for January in Michigan, it was not warm. But armed with a heavy wool blanket, we spent some time outside on her family’s property enjoying Pure Michigan. I am so excited too, because I get to photograph them and their little one over the next year as they signed up for my Your First Year package. Check back next month to meet Mia! I can’t wait!
Alexandra, just graduated with a Bachelors in Nursing
Greg, Coyote Logistics in Ann Arbor
Plymouth, Michigan
Due date: March 20, 2015
How did you tell Greg you were pregnant?
I sent Greg a letter in the mail from “Stork, Inc.” The letter stated:
Mr. Gregory Marrone, Thank you for your recent order. At this time, we would like to inform you that your product is being processed and the expected date of delivery is March 20, 2015. Thanks in advance for your patience.”
When Greg read the letter he said, “I have no idea what this is… You ordered something didn’t you?” It was very hard to keep a straight face. After some time of confusion he finally asked me if I was pregnant.
Favorite thing about being pregnant:
I love knowing that she is always with me. I always have company and never feel alone.
Did you find out what you’re having?
We are having a girl
Have you chosen a name?
Mia Genevieve Marrone
Baby item you are most excited to use:
I am most excited to rock her in the rocking chair thats in her nursery. Greg and I found a beautiful rocking chair at an antique store. We put lots of love into it by painting and reupholstering it.
Is your hospital bag packed?
I made a list but have not actually packed my bag yet. I will probably start packing in the next week or so.
Nursery theme or colors:
The nursery is french inspired with all neutrals/whites and a few pale pink accents.
Erin! I love your style. I especially love all the images on the porch and in the house – they are so intimate and perfectly gorgeous. Way to capture this couple and their cozy style!
LITERALLY, these could not be any more perfect. I cannot even pick my favorite, I pick them all! And holy MODEL STATUS, Alex! You did a fabulous job capturing this adorable little family Erin!
