I love Chicago! I actually used to live there in another life.When Reiko & Nate asked me to come to Chicago to capture their engagement photos I was so excited. It was a really great romantic Chicago afternoon.

One thing about me and why I travel so much is because I LOVE it! I am so inspired by traveling and shooting in different areas. Sure, I LOVE Detroit, but there’s just something fun and challenging in shooting outside of my comfort zone. Obviously it works for me, because I pretty much traveled the entire month of October! Another thing that I love about visiting Chicago is I get to see one of Chicago’s Finest – my friend Tiffany. Tiff is a wedding and lifestyle photographer I met at Jessica Oh’s workshop last spring and we hit it off right away. There’s just something about midwest girls :) Anywho, she tagged along with Reiko, Nate and I as we explored a bit of Chicago’s north side. Colors, Light & Wind, OH MY! Ahhh, such a great night with some really rad people! I cannot wait for Reiko & Date’s wedding next summer! Hope to see you again soon, Chicago!

Their engagement story?

We went out to dinner on a Friday in March. After dinner, we took a walk to one of our favorite spots in the neighborhood that has a nice view of the skyline. Nate asked me to take a picture of the skyline and when I turned around he was down on one knee :) Nate said that he chose to propose in Chicago because it was the place where we could finally start our lives together after two years of long distance. After the proposal, Nate asked if I wanted to go to Mexico in the morning because there were some open flights. Of course, I said YES! Another amazing perk of his job. So off we went to Mexico for one night! It was the best weekend of my life :)
