I met Shaylyn & Anthony in Downtown Detroit a few weeks ago for their engagement photos on kind of a gloomy weekday evening. I love how the cloudiness added a bit of drama to their session and you guys know I love that wind!
We had fun as per usual, but the thing I really loved about their session is that both of they totally trusted me. That is sooooo important for when people contact me and want to book. I had never met Anthony before their session, and I asked him to play along with me a bit to help get some real smiles and reactions, and he totally did and of course Shaylyn worked the camera and went along with my silliness. I can’t thank you enough for that! I cannot wait for their wedding next year!

How they met: We have known each other through mutual friends, but it wasn’t until a get together at a friends house in 2012 that we actually started talking to each other :)
Anthony had asked me if I wanted to go out to dinner on a Saturday evening, and where I would like to go. I suggested Panera since I knew we had some gift cards left over from Christmas (lol). Little did I know, Anthony had something big planned, so he chose a different place for me and decided on Da Francesco’s (which is our favorite restaurant). A couple of hours before we were supposed to go out to dinner, I put Annabelle down for a nap. Anthony took the baby monitor from me and told me to go get ready (I was completely clueless as to what was going on). When Annabelle woke up from her nap, I went upstairs to get her. I saw there was a little card taped to the front of Annabelle’s crib and Annabelle was sitting straight up with the biggest smile on her face… I was still clueless… So I opened the card, and after an adorable message, it read, “Mommy, will you marry Daddy? Love Annabelle”, and then Anthony came in with the ring :)
