Anytime someone tells me they want their shoot to be in Downtown Detroit, I totally want to jump up and do the Dance of Joy made popular by the 90’s television show, “Perfect Strangers”. I love Detroit, and I feel like when I shoot there, magic always happens. The city is so beautiful in so many different ways; I just feel like I thrive there as a photographer (and also as a human). When my friend Shelly contacted me to photograph her family because Oliver was turning 2, I was so excited. Sunday morning, we headed down to RiverWalk nice and early. I know getting up early and getting the kids ready at the crack of dawn is not ideal (remember I have two little ones myself), but I promise you, it is totally worth it. As always, I had a blast hanging out with The Brays. Oliver loved watching the boats and people as they ran past us. And Lucy pretty much cracked me up the entire time with her faces. I’ve known her Mom since we were 9, so Lucy’s faces make me do a double take sometimes :) Scroll down to see more of my morning with The Brays…
