Ok, so I’m totally impartial to this little guy, because he’s my nephew :)  My parents live in Florida and so they would be able to see everything that’s going on – since they couldn’t be here yet – I offered to photograph a “Fresh 48”.  What’s a Fresh 48?  It’s a session that is held in the hospital  within the first 48 hours of the little one’s arrival.  When EVERYTHING is just brand new.  The smiles, the laughs, the tears, the excitement.  And let’s be honest, there’s no better place for natural light than the gigantic windows in a hospital room.

Birth photography has always interested me, but with having two little ones of my own and a Husband that works (not to mention a heavy wedding season) – I can’t really drop things at a moments notice.  But I can get somewhere within 48 hours.  Also, as a authentic photographer, shooting while you’re still in the hospital is perfect, because I can help capture your story.  The real story.  Plus, the pro to Mom is she doesn’t have to worry about what everyone’s wearing ;)

One other detail you may notice is – “Whaaaaat?!  She’s editing in black and white?!”  Yup.  I feel like it helps tell the stories of these new lives better and sets the tone with a little drama, because let’s be honest, no birth comes without a little drama :)
